The English Level Placement Test (ELT) is administered to determine the English language proficiency level of students enrolling in the university for the first time. All students enrolling in the university for the first time who do not possess a valid foreign language proficiency certificate approved by the University Senate are required to take this test.

The English Placement Test is administered in person on campus and consists of multiple-choice questions designed to measure listening, vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills.

Students who achieve the required passing score on the English Placement Test are eligible to take the English Proficiency Test (EPT).

Students who do not pass the English Placement Test or the English Proficiency Test are placed into elementary, pre-intermediate, and intermediate levels according to their test results.
