What is Additional Preference?

YKS (Higher Education Institutions Examination) Additional Preferences is the process by which ÖSYM grants new preferences to candidates who were not placed in the first placement, for the quotas that were left vacant and not registered in the first placement of universities.

How to Make Additional Preferences?

Following initial placements and registration, ÖSYM publishes the "YKS Supplemental Preference Guide" for additional preferences. The base scores for the departments and programs to be selected must be equal to or higher than the base score to be eligible for selection.

Who can benefit from additional placement?

Candidates Who Were Not Placed After the First PlacementAfter the initial placement results are announced, candidates who were not placed can apply for the remaining vacant positions during the additional placement period.
