Biomedical Engineering Master's Program (English)

with thesis
English
The program's founding purpose is to train graduate engineers who will play a significant role in advancing medical science, improving healthcare quality, and addressing global health issues, ultimately contributing to the growth of the healthcare sector and the development of medical practice areas worldwide.

About the Program

Biomedical engineering is an interdisciplinary field that uses engineering and medical principles to develop technologies and systems to solve and improve problems in healthcare and medical practice. Diagnosing diseases and improving treatment methods contributes to improving healthcare systems. Biomedical engineers design artificial organs, prosthetics, surgical robots, and advanced imaging equipment; develop drug delivery systems; and contribute to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. They also play a crucial role in healthcare management, optimizing systems, and addressing global health challenges. The interdisciplinary nature of biomedical engineering fosters collaboration, enabling personalized medicine, making healthcare more efficient, and fostering innovations that save lives and improve the quality of healthcare worldwide.

Students participating in the Biomedical Engineering Master's Program at Istanbul Atlas University will be able to apply medical and engineering principles to the life sciences through collaboration between experienced faculty members from the medical faculty and expert faculty members from the engineering faculty. They will be able to develop strategies, devices, and solutions for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the healthcare sector. They will also be able to apply the fundamental principles of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering to problems posed in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, and biology, and to design and develop new methods, algorithms, devices, and software for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. They will also be able to develop new products needed in the biomedical sector and design improvements to existing products. They will also be able to analyze and solve problems in biology and medicine to increase the quality and effectiveness of patient care. They will also be able to work in academia.
