As in all health disciplines, the nursing profession is also affected by rapidly advancing scientific developments and requires professionals who are constantly improving themselves, learning, and basing their practices on scientific knowledge. Postgraduate education is important in educating young professionals with these characteristics and in developing professional knowledge based on research activities.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing is one of the nine specialization areas in nursing that provide knowledge and skills that include protecting and improving women's physical and psychosocial health, preventing diseases and meeting care needs in cases where health deteriorates. Considering the impact of women's health on the health and development level of society, the importance of the need for expert and qualified human resources in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing becomes evident. The program is run by five experienced and competent faculty members, four professors and one assistant professor. Students who graduate from the program receive a Master's Degree in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing. The program consists of compulsory and elective courses with a total ECTS credit of 120. A student in the thesis-based master's program is expected to write the results obtained in their thesis in accordance with the thesis writing rules of the relevant institute and defend their thesis orally in front of the jury. After the thesis exam is completed, the jury decides on acceptance, rejection or correction by a simple majority. The student whose thesis is decided to be corrected must complete the corrections within three months at the latest and defend their thesis again in front of the same jury.
