Academic Achievement is Steadily Increasing
At the “Universal Contribution to Science Awards” ceremony held at Atlas University, certificates of achievement were presented to academics who published in internationally indexed scientific journals in the Q1 and Q2 categories during the period of May 2026.

Delivering the opening speech of the ceremony, Atlas University Rector Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak stated that the university had left behind an extremely productive period in terms of academic, scientific and social aspects, and congratulated all the academics who had achieved publication success.
"Our Scientific Production Culture is Getting Stronger Every Day"
Professor Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak stated that academic performance has been steadily increasing, and that the publication success achieved in May is one of the important indicators of this development.
Prof. Dr. Kocabıçak stated, “In May, we reached a total of 88 international publications, including 50 Q1 publications, 26 Q2 publications, and the contributions of our Q3 and Q4 publications. This shows that the culture of scientific production at our university is getting stronger every day. This achievement is the most important result of the dedicated work of our academics and our research-oriented approach.”
Stating that May was a month full of significant events that added value to university life, such as the 2025-2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony, Spring Festival, and International Day, Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak emphasized that scientific development was carried out together with a strong university culture.
"ARC will give a new impetus to scientific research."
Professor Dr. Kocabıçak stated that the Atlas Research Center (ARC), which was inaugurated last week, will make significant contributions to the university's research vision, adding that the center will provide important support for the development of national and international projects by encouraging interdisciplinary research.
Prof. Dr. Kocabıçak stated, “With ARC, we are creating a strong research ecosystem where our researchers can develop joint projects, benefit from advanced technology infrastructure, and further increase their scientific output. This center will not only contribute to the number of publications of our university; it will also be an important research base that strengthens international collaborations, supports innovative research, and adds value to the scientific development of our country. I believe that our scientific achievements will be taken to much higher levels in the coming period.”
"International Success Also Recognized in the Field of Sustainability"
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak also touched upon Atlas University's international achievements, stating that the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 results once again demonstrated the university's scientific and societal contribution.
Kocabıçak stated, “According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 results, our university ranked 7th in the world, 2nd in Türkiye, and 1st among foundation universities in the 'Accessible and Clean Energy' category. Furthermore, it rose to 96th place in the world rankings in the 'Healthy and Quality of Life' category. These achievements not only validate our performance in scientific publication production but also our vision of being a university that contributes to sustainable development goals and creates value for society at an international level. We will continue to pursue research, education, and social contribution with a holistic approach.”
Academics who achieved publication success in Q1 and Q2 were given their certificates.
Following the speeches, certificates of achievement were presented to academics who published in internationally indexed scientific journals in the Q1 and Q2 categories during May 2026 by Rector Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak and the relevant faculty deans.
The Q1 category for the May period also included articles by Rector Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Sınağ.
It was held with high participation.
