ENGLISH TRANSLATION AND TRANSLATION

Today, the importance of English as a common language in intercultural communication, information and technology exchange processes in the world, which has now become a global village, is increasing. Therefore, the need for expert translators to mediate communication increases simultaneously. In this context Translation and Interpreting departments have started to come to the fore and gain the importance they deserve in order to train expert translators who can do written and oral translations within the framework of scientific methods in order to meet the needs of the sector.

English Translation and Interpreting Due to the undeniable importance and necessity of being a multilingual translator in our curriculum, which consists of language courses, field courses and interdisciplinary courses in our department, a second foreign language course other than English is also included for 8 semesters.

Our students will have the opportunity to experience the profession in a practical context with the compulsory internship they will do during the summer semesters, and they will take firm steps for their career after graduation.

With Erasmus Plus student mobility, our students will be able to study for one or two semesters at the prestigious universities of Europe.

English Translation and Interpreting It is possible for our students to enroll in the Double Major Program (DMP) in the Department of English Language and Literature or in other departments of our University, if they fulfill the required success requirement and other conditions. In this way, our students who successfully complete their departments can graduate with two undergraduate diplomas. Apart from this, if they enroll in the Minor program and complete the program successfully, they can graduate with a Minor Certificate.

In our country where the need for translation is increasing day by day, our graduates; They are employed as translators and project managers in translation offices, conference interpreters in national and international organizations, editor in publishing houses, news text writers in various media organizations, program, screenplay, advertisements, film and subtitle translators, translation and interpretation in ministries and other institutions of the state. In addition, our graduates will be able to work independently by opening their own translation offices as freelancers. It is also possible for our graduates, who can work as English teachers or as lecturers in the preparatory units of universities, to contribute to the field of translation studies by conducting scientific studies while continuing their academic life, if they continue their graduate education.
