INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC COLLABORATIONS OFFICE

The Office of International Academic Cooperation strives to achieve comprehensive internationalization by focusing on improving the quality of international partnerships, projects and mobility programmes, beyond purely numerical measures. To achieve this, the Office of International Academic Collaborations emphasizes the integration of research and teaching with international collaborations while promoting intercultural awareness on campus. By doing so, the Office of International Academic Collaborations contributes to the creation of a more diverse and multicultural environment on campus and enriches the overall university experience.

Istanbul Atlas University 2023-2028 Strategic Internationalization Plan determines the mission, vision and values of our University, as well as its strategic goals and activities related to these goals, covering all our academic and administrative units.

INTERNATIONALIZATION GOALS AND AREAS OF ACTION

We believe that internationalization contributes significantly to the achievement of greater quality and competitiveness in all areas of Istanbul Atlas University's activities. In this regard, we continue our efforts to make internationalization the main goal of our University by setting targets to be achieved in the fields of research, education and management.

As we prepare to enter the highly competitive global job markets in academia and the private sector, we aim to attract distinguished international academics and students by providing the most suitable environment for research, teaching and learning at the University.

For the purpose of implementing the internationalization strategy, the following five internationalization action areas have been defined, each with its own objectives.

Areas of Responsibility

Managing international collaboration initiatives: Oversees and manages various international collaboration activities such as collaborative agreements, partnerships and projects.

Develop and maintain partnerships: Actively seeks opportunities to establish and maintain partnerships with international institutions, organizations and stakeholders. Develops relationships that support the university's internationalization goals.

Facilitating international projects: Works to identify and take advantage of international project development opportunities. Coordinates and supports the implementation of these projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective results.

Coordination of education and internship programs: Coordinates and implements international education and internship programs for students. It facilitates the logistics, communication and support necessary for successful participation in these programs.

Supporting faculty and staff participation: Organizes teaching and training activities for faculty and administrative staff to develop their international competencies and promote intercultural understanding.

Organizing international delegations: Organizes programs and events for international delegations visiting the university. It facilitates meetings, exchange of ideas and cooperation between the visiting delegation and the university administration.

Improving the quality of international partnerships: Focuses on improving the qualitative aspects of international partnerships, projects and mobilities. It promotes the integration of research and teaching within international collaborations and promotes cross-cultural awareness across the campus.

Promoting a culture of internationalization: Supports the university's internationalization policies and activities aimed at promoting a culture of internationalization among students and staff. It encourages the adoption of a global mindset, intercultural competence and the exchange of international experiences.

Providing guidance and support: Serves as a resource for academic and administrative units providing guidance, information, and support regarding international collaboration initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Monitoring and evaluation: Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and impact of international cooperation activities. Evaluates progress towards internationalization goals and identifies areas for improvement.
