Within the scope of international credit mobility, a Higher Education Institution in a third country not associated to the programme (Annex.1) can send its students to ATLAS. After the mobility phase, students return to their sending institution to complete their studies.

Students enrolled in formal education programs in higher education institutions in third countries that are not associated to the Programme, which are cooperated within the scope of the KA171 International Credit Mobility Project, can benefit from the programme, on the condition that their home institution and ATLAS signed an Inter-Institutional Agreement.

ATLAS Erasmus Office unit is responsible for organizing application calls and facilitating incoming student exchange mobility. The application process starts with the determination of the candidates selected from the contracted institutions. Prior to their application, applicants must be formally nominated by their home university.

Nomination Criteria

- Undergraduate nominees: must have completed a minimum of 1 year at their institution before visiting ATLAS.

- MS/PhD Students: METU will accept graduate students for exchange only if:

a) They agree to take courses at our institution. Or,

b) They find a Research Supervisor at ATLAS (by themselves) who is ready to accept to study with the student. In this case, the student should submit an acceptance letter from the agreed supervisor during the application period. Please note that it is not possible for Erasmus Office to assign academic supervisors to students who want to conduct research work at ATLAS.

Important Reminder

Medium of instruction at ATLAS is English for some of the programmes. Please bear in mind that in order to be able to follow courses offered in English at ATLAS, students are strongly recommended to have adequate level of English, meaning B2 level language competence according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (TOEFL (ibt) score of 72-94 or IELTS score of 5.5-6,0).

For the programmes in which the medium of instruction is Turkish, students are recommended to have adequate level of Turkish, meaning B2 level.

Following the completion of student mobility a certificate of attendance is prepared (FR 340 ERASMUS+ INCOMING STUDENT ATTENDANCE FORM)
