The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic management systems is transforming leadership practices and employee experiences in contemporary organizations. This study presents a systematic review of the literature on algorithmic leadership, AI anxiety, and employee silence, focusing particularly on hybrid work environments. The review synthesizes existing findings to examine how algorithm-driven decision-making affects employee attitudes, behaviors, and psychological well-being and status. The conclusions drawn from the studies show that algorithmic leadership can increase perceptions of surveillance, decrease autonomy, and contribute to AI-related anxiety, which can then foster defensive and submissive forms of employee silence. On the other hand, psychological safety, ethical AI governance, leadership transparency, and organizational trust emerge as key mechanisms that mitigate these negative effects and encourage employee voice. Based on the identified theoretical and empirical gaps, this study develops a research agenda for the future, highlighting the role of psychological safety, explainable AI, and human-centered leadership in hybrid organizations. This study aims to contribute to the emerging literature on organizations using AI-powered applications by integrating different research streams and offering directions for future organizational research and applications.
