Each of these projects, with a budget of approximately 3 million TL, stands out for its innovative research in the field of health sciences.
Two scientific projects have been awarded funding.
The projects supported under the TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program are as follows:
- Innovative Research on Chronic Kidney Disease and Parkinson's Disease
The TÜBİTAK 1001 project titled “Identification of Parkinson’s-Specific Molecular Vulnerability Signature in Chronic Kidney Disease: Urine-Derived Extracellular Vesicle miRNA Analysis,” led by Dr. Burcu Gülez, has been awarded funding. The project aims to identify early molecular changes specific to Parkinson’s disease in patients with chronic kidney disease and to develop innovative, non-invasive biomarkers for early diagnosis.
The project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Ersoy Kocabıçak, while Dr. Mahmut Akgül contributes as an international consultant. The researchers involved in the project are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülay Yılmaz, Dr. Melike Seçilmiş, Dr. Meltem Can İke, Dr. Mete Hakan Karalök, Dr. Seda Bostan, and Dr. Yakup Bakır.
- New Approaches in Cancer Research with 3D Spheroid Models
The project titled "Comparative and Mechanistic Analysis of Mitophagy and Nucleophagy Responses in 3D Endometrial Cancer Spheroids Under Lithium Chloride-Induced Cellular Stress," led by Assistant Professor Dr. Berna Yıldırım, has also been awarded TÜBİTAK funding.
In the project, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Bilir and Prof. Dr. Fatih Kocabaş are advisors, while Dr. Burcu Biltekin is a researcher.
