The event's guests, journalist Ayten Serin İnsel and journalist and visual director Beyazıt Karaahmetoğlu, presented a comprehensive perspective on women's representation, visibility, and gender perceptions in the media. Drawing on their professional expertise, the speakers shared illustrative examples of how women are positioned in both news production and visual culture. Throughout the conversation, key topics such as ethical responsibilities in journalism, gender sensitivity in news production, and the limits of media representations of violence were addressed.
The talk, which highlighted the significance of November 25th in terms of social awareness, significantly contributed to our students' ability to critically evaluate media content. Discussions on the representation of women, the language of news, and the impact of visual narrative on social perception allowed students to develop both academic and professional perspectives.
