Educational program:
The first year of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program curriculum includes the “Academic and Social Orientation” course, which comprehensively introduces the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, as well as basic courses such as “Anatomy”, “Physiology”, and “Basic Microbiology”. The second year includes basic compulsory departmental courses such as “Histology”, “Medical Biology and Genetics”, and “Clinical Practice I-II”, as well as elective courses such as Cell Culture and Stem Cell, Hematology, and non-departmental university elective courses. Our aim in determining our elective courses is to ensure that our students have as much command of the field as possible when they are closer to graduation and to help them determine their interests and talents in line with the needs of the sector.
The educational objectives of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program are;
PEA1. Has the basic scientific knowledge and application skills required in the field of medical laboratory techniques.
PEA2. Can use medical laboratory equipment and technological devices effectively.
PEA3. Prioritizes patient safety in the medical laboratory environment and works in accordance with ethical principles.
PEA4. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary health team and works harmoniously within the team.
PEA5. Has the ability to follow the importance of scientific research and innovations in the field of medical laboratories within the scope of lifelong learning.
Medical Laboratory Techniques Program educational objectives:
H1.1 Having sufficient basic knowledge and being able to use this knowledge to perform field-specific applications.
H2.1 Ability to learn and apply correctly how to perform analysis and tests in the laboratory
H3.1 Gaining a sense of professional responsibility in the health sector

Medical Laboratory Techniques Program Outcomes:
PÇ1-Has basic, current and practical knowledge about his/her profession.
PÇ2-Have knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.
PÇ3-Follows current developments and practices for his/her profession and uses them effectively.
PO4- Effectively uses information technologies (software, programs, animations, etc.) related to his/her profession.
PÇ5-Has the ability to independently evaluate professional problems and issues with an analytical and critical approach and to propose solutions.
PÇ6-Can effectively present thoughts at the level of knowledge and skills through written and oral communication and express them in an understandable manner.
PO7-Takes responsibility as a team member to solve unforeseen and complex problems encountered in applications related to the field.
PO8-Has awareness of career management and lifelong learning.
PÇ9-It has social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting data related to the field, its application and announcing the results.
PO10- Can use Turkish and foreign languages correctly, read official and technical documents written in English and communicate with colleagues.
PO11-Knows the medical laboratory environment and its functioning.
PO12- Defines and performs the procedures for accepting, analyzing, reporting and transmitting results to samples arriving at the medical laboratory.
PO13-Explains laboratory hygiene, safety and waste management.
Program Evaluation;
The evaluation methods of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program course success are determined by the instructor of each course, within the framework of the relevant Associate and Undergraduate Education-Training Regulation. Midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, homework, practices and presentations are among these evaluation methods.
Both Istanbul Atlas University and the Vocational School conduct regular evaluation surveys to evaluate the courses and programs taught by students, and continuous improvement efforts are made in line with the feedback.
Distance Education;
The education method of our program is face-to-face, but some university elective courses taken from the common course pool, some departmental elective courses, and some courses such as Turkish Language and Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions, which are mandatory in all programs, can be conducted online. Online courses are planned to not exceed 30% of all courses.
