About the Program

The purpose of the Medical Imaging Techniques program; To train qualified personnel who perform radiological examinations requested by the physician according to appropriate imaging protocols, inform patients about the radiological examination to be performed, ensure their preparation, and protect the patient's radiation safety and privacy during the examination. Those who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree with the title of "Medical Imaging Technician".

What are the qualifications required by the program?

Our students who are interested in the Medical Imaging Techniques Program must be successful in the YKS (TYT) score type. In addition, our students are expected to be interested in Biology, Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and basic medical sciences required by the program. In terms of professional maturity and usefulness after graduation; Characteristics such as being prone to productivity and active work, knowing how to make the most of scientific data, being interested in technical devices, computers and other automation devices, having advanced communication and persuasion skills, enjoying helping others, being disciplined and patient are important.

What opportunities does the program offer to its students?

Medical Imaging Technician learns to use radiology devices that create the images necessary to provide medical diagnosis. The operation of these devices, which are high-tech products, requires theoretical knowledge and experience.

Our program, which offers comprehensive education with an expert academic staff and a multidisciplinary approach, enables our students to gain the highest level of professional experience while studying, thanks to laboratories designed for applied courses and internship opportunities.

We provide experience to our students by offering practice and internship opportunities in our hospitals and laboratories serving within our Faculty of Medicine and University.

Atlas University offers the most modern infrastructure to our students at the point of application, with its Basic Sciences Application Laboratory, Multidisciplinary Medicine Laboratory, Anatomy, Physiology Laboratories and Radiology Laboratory, which contains high-tech devices specially designed for the program.

There are working areas in units such as direct films, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Mammography, Ultrasonography, which are requested for the diagnosis of the disease, or in the preparation and application of devices for patients receiving radiation therapy, and in various units of the Nuclear Medicine department.
