About the Department

Physical therapy and rehabilitation; It is the name given to the treatment of patients with some physical therapy modalities such as electric current, heat or cold application, as well as exercises or various applications, aimed at restoring functions and movements that are diminished, deteriorated or disabled due to reasons such as injury, disease, environmental factors, trauma and old age.

According to the definition of the World Health Organization (WHO), physiotherapists; They are people who evaluate, plan and implement rehabilitation programs to restore or improve motor functions in people, increase mobility, treat painful conditions, and treat or prevent physical problems that may occur due to injury, disease or other disorders.

The physiotherapy and rehabilitation program planned individually by physiotherapists aims to help patients or individuals with health problems reach maximum quality of life. He/she has the right to prescribe and implement the necessary exercise for sick or healthy people.

What are the qualifications required by the program?

Students who are interested in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation are expected to be successful in the numerical score type and, in addition, to be interested in biology, physics, anatomy, physiology, psychology and basic medical sciences required by the program. At Atlas University Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, with our expert academic staff and a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to ensure that our students receive the highest level of education and that they successfully reflect their knowledge and skills into their working lives within the framework of professional ethical principles. In this mission, we offer our 6.100 education, application and advanced research laboratories, which have a total area of ​​38 square meters and include Turkey's largest multidisciplinary laboratories, to the service of our students. We provide our students with the opportunity to convey our professional experiences in the best possible way with the Basic Sciences Application Laboratory, Multidisciplinary Medicine Laboratory, Anatomy, Physiology Laboratories, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Laboratory and Occupational Therapy Laboratories specially designed for the Program.

In order for our students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and transfer it to professional life in the best way possible, we provide our students with practice and internship opportunities in the hospital and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation unit serving within our Faculty of Medicine and University.

In which fields can graduates find employment opportunities?

Graduates of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation have a wide field of work. They can work in hospitals, private educational institutions, medical centers, private health institutions, universities, spa/thermal facilities, sports/wellness centers, nursing homes, professional and amateur sports clubs and many other places. While on duty, physiotherapists; They work in communication and interaction with other professionals of the rehabilitation team such as physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapy technicians.
