The aim of the Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's Program is to contribute to the training of highly qualified graduate students who can provide creative and innovative applications in meeting the needs of society based on scientific data in interdisciplinary fields and who can compete on national and international platforms.

About the Program

Our program aims to increase R&D and "know-how" studies in the fields of molecular biology, genetics and biotechnology in our country, to train competent individuals in the field, to contribute to science worldwide and to advance national health and welfare by applying scientific data in the development of industrial technologies. Applications are accepted from graduates of different undergraduate programs in the fields of Basic Sciences, Life Sciences and related Engineering and Health Sciences, as well as those with theoretical and applied Basic Molecular Biology/Biology background.

Aim of the Program

The aim of the Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's Program is to provide sufficient knowledge in the fields of molecular biology and genetics for the field of biotechnology, which has an important place in the world, and to train expert researchers and qualified scientists for the needs of the country. Our Molecular Biology and Genetics Graduate program aims to contribute to universal science by supporting studies on new discoveries.

Program Profile

All fields of life sciences basically examine living things and their relationships with each other with questions of why and how. Molecular Biology and Genetics is the field of life science that studies living things structurally and functionally at the molecular level. With the analysis of the genetic code of different organisms, including humans, completed in recent years, studies in the fields of life sciences and biotechnology have gained momentum.

The Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's Program with Thesis aims to train experts with a science background and perspective so that the knowledge and findings in the field of molecular biology and genetics can be applied for the benefit of society in the fields of health, food and agriculture.

The Department of Molecular Biology has a 70 m2 laboratory, equipped with the basic equipment needed in the field of molecular biology and genetics, suitable for education and research purposes, and animal and plant tissue culture laboratories designed as partitions in a total area of 40 m2. The department's infrastructure includes the use of basic molecular biological techniques and the infrastructure for culturing animals, plants and bacteria. In addition, our university's infrastructure and superstructure in the fields of health and engineering will enable multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies to be carried out in the program.

Admission Requirements

Student admission to the Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's Program with Thesis In accordance with the Istanbul Atlas University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and within the application conditions determined by the Graduate Education Institute, candidates must have an ALES score of not less than 55 points and an English language proficiency score.
