About the Program

This program aims to train expert researcher and practitioner psychologists who are equipped with advanced knowledge and skills to protect, develop and improve psychological health at the individual-family-society level.

As is the case all over the world, Turkey is also experiencing rapid social change and rapid increase and accumulation of knowledge. This change brings about communication problems, psychological problems, loneliness and alienation in interpersonal relationships. For these situations, there is a need for expert psychologists who will provide appropriate service to the society, who are professionally knowledgeable and skilled, who can make independent decisions, solve problems, produce information, have the ability to conduct research and publish, have developed ethical values and sensitivity, and can guide their students and colleagues. Although the number of psychology students and graduates is increasing in Turkey, there are not enough expert and academic psychologists with these characteristics. However, the increasing number of students, the increasing population and the increasing number of psychological problems experienced by the society make it inevitable to increase the number of academic psychologists to respond to these and the number of expert psychologists to provide services. In line with this need, those who have a scientific way of thinking, have the ability to plan, implement and publish scientific research, can evaluate scientific articles, can communicate with colleagues on scientific and ethical issues, adopt ethical principles, can make psychological evaluations in various application areas, have advanced knowledge in the branches of developmental and experimental psychology. Istanbul Atlas University Psychology Thesis Master's Program was established to train psychologists who are experts in their field, who have acquired skills and skills, can work with a team and serve the benefit of society. This program will enable the training of expert psychologists with the above-mentioned qualifications.

The contents of the courses in the education and training program of the Psychology Thesis Master's Program, focusing on developmental and experimental psychology, are planned in line with scientific and current research conducted in the field of psychology.
